Courtroom in the Classroom
The Courtroom in the Classroom committee serves to facilitate judicial outreach to school-aged children including a program entitled 7 Reasons to Leave the Party, a national award-winning program developed by Judge Mark Drummond and presented throughout the Eighth Judicial Circuit.
Courtroom in the Classroom’s goal is to get judges and lawyers into the schools to educate young persons about the third co-equal branch of government, the judicial branch. In addition to providing students with valuable information about the legal system in the United States and specifically in Illinois, the message delivered in 7 Reasons to Leave the Party will inform young persons of the benefits of making good decisions and the consequences of failing to do so.
