Appellate Court Justice Carl Anthony Walker has been appointed as a member of the Illinois Judicial Ethics Committee (IJEC).

Appellate Court Justice Carl Anthony Walker has been appointed as a member of the Illinois Judicial Ethics Committee (IJEC). Walker was appointed by the Illinois Judges Association and its president, Judge James E. Snyder. IJEC is comprised of judges appointed by the Illinois Judges Association and attorneys appointed by the Illinois State Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association. IJEC publishes written advisory opinions on judicial ethics inquires to assist Illinois Judges. Chicago attorney Steven F. Pflaum of Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg is the committee Chair and retired Judge Ray McKoski is the committee Vice-Chair.

Walker received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his juris doctorate from the University of Iowa. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. 

Serving on the bench since 2006, Justice Walker most recently served as a judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division and was assigned to the Illinois Appellate Court in June, 2018.

The appointed was made by Illinois Judges Association president, James E. Snyder. “Justice Walker is highly regarded for his judicial integrity and his compassion for litigants. IJA is very grateful that he is taking on this role.”

The Illinois Judges Association consists of over 1,250 working and retired judges. The IJA promotes judicial excellence, professional development, judicial education and works to preserve the independence of the judiciary.  Justice Walker serves as a member of IJA’s Board of Directors, as well.
